“Revolutionizing spinal disc replacement with our proprietary one-piece viscoelastic disc technology that restores normal spine motion, shock absorption and lasts a lifetime.”

About AxioMed

AxioMed was founded in 2001 by surgeons at Cleveland Clinic and engineers who previously worked with Dr. Art Steffee to develop the Acroflex viscoelastic disc replacement. The Acroflex disc was made with rubber vulcanized to titanium endplates which led to failures. The new AxioMed disc is made of a proprietary silica-based viscoelastic material proven in extensive biomechanical and biocompatible testing to mimic the human disc in all planes of motion and over 50 years of longevity years of testing. The viscoelastic material is radiolucent and thus X-ray and MRI compatible. Over 800 discs have been implanted worldwide throughout the USA, Europe, Australia and Jamaica with zero device failures. It is the only viscoelastic lumbar disc to complete an USA IDE clinical study with up to 13 years of follow up.

Revolutionizing Spinal Disc Replacement: AxioMed's Journey to Lead in Viscoelastic Next-Generation Artificial Disc Technology.

AxioMed was founded to advance the standard of care for patients with degenerative spine conditions by progressing spine technology beyond fusion and first-generation artificial discs. Led by an experienced surgeon team and utilizing patented viscoelastic polymer technology, AxioMed has developed the next generation of artificial discs.

"Our primary goal is to restore normal spine movements by replacing diseased spine discs in those suffering from spine pain. With our AxioMed technology capable of emulating a healthy disc, our mission is to reestablish normalcy where it's been lost. Tomorrow, we seek to create smart AxioMed disc technologies"
